Over the fifteen years that it has been in existence Mudstuck Festival has grown from a small occasion with a few hundred fans to one of the top annual music festivals in the UK with over 250,000 festival goers descending on the tiny West Country village of Mudstuck.

Hello everybody I’m Mike Dupp, the stage announcer here at Mudstuck. I’d like to welcome you all to this VIP backstage party for the organisers, performers and a few special guests here at the Mudstuck Festival.

I’d also like to welcome any of you festival goers who Muddy Fields invited along as a special treat after your tents were flooded out when the River Mud burst its banks after yesterday’s rain. Isn’t that nice of him.

Muddy will be joining us shortly to say a few words of thanks. I think he popped home to Mudstuck Farm a few minutes ago. Until he gets here I will keep you entertained with a few funny stories about my life as a National Radio DJ.

Hello again. Sorry for that, there seems to have been a problem with the power supply from the main generators. We’re running OK on the backup generators which should be fine now the main performances have finished I don’t know where Muddy has got to, knowing him he’s trying to get the generators going again.

Oh hello, somebody has passed me a note, let me see. Oh no, it says that Muddy Fields has been found face down in the mud by the entrance to the backstage compound. He has a tent peg in his back and he is dead!!!
